About Us

Many Northwestern Michigan men & women were involved in the Korean War. Thirty-five area veterans were killed and many wounded in that war. We must not forget them and what they did there. Hopefully this website will serve to keep their memories alive. This web site was created  for all who served in Korea during that war and for the purpose of educating the public about the war. When and if you ever get a chance to talk to one of these veterans, just listen and let them tell about their memories and thank God that these veterans served their country so faithfully, then give them a pat on the back and say "Thanks". A beautiful memorial monument has been placed in the park along Grand Traverse West Bay off Grand Traverse Bay Blvd. in Traverse City, Michigan.(photo right).

We are involved with many activites throughout Northwestern Michigan area, serving as requested in funerals for veterans, color guards during parades and other events, insuring that NW Michigan veterans are not forgotten and letting them know that we still care by participating in events recognizing their service. We are included in the Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition and take part in events and activites covered by the coalition.

We hold business meetings monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:00PM, except December at VFW Post 2780 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, Michigan. And encourage all of our members to attend our meetings.

We invite the public to contact us if they would like more information on our events and activities. We are here to insure that our veterans are not fogotten and to assist them in any way we can.
